Although there are many things to do and see in Chicago for visiting railfans and fellow transportation enthusiasts, One must not forget the "Non Railfans" as well.

You are correct -- Chicago is filled with so many different activities. A new activity that you will enjoy, especially if you like good food, is the Progressive Dining Tour by Chicago Dine-Around.
