Illinois Central Railroad bi leval commuter train entering Randolph Street Station downtown. Chicago Illinois USA. May 1983.
I took this photo one Springtime morning way back in May of 1983.
A northbound Illinois Central Railroad bi leval commuter train, is entering the underground approach to the Randolph Street terminal adjacent to Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago Illinois.
This terminal was shared by the Chicago, South Shore and Southbend railroad on the outdoor ground leval, and the Illinois Central in the lower underground leval.
This area has been redeveloped in recent years, and is now the site of Chicago's Milenium Park. The trains were moved underground, with a new park built above them in the area shown here.
