Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
I was born and raised on the southwest side of the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
One of My all time favorite places I enjoyed visiting on the southwest side of Chicago, was Marzano's Miami Bowl, wich was located just west of the intersection of South Archer Avenue and South Pulaski Road, in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood.
I attended nearby Curie High School just a few city blocks east of here on South Archer Avenue from 1977 until 1981, and can recall My Gym class having a bowling course here during the fall of 1979. It was a lot of fun.
I took this photo back in September of 2004, shortly after it was announced in the Chicago Sun Times Newspaper, that Marzano's Miami Bowl was closing for good after many years of operation.
I have many happy memories of Marzano's Miami Bowl, and also Marzano's Clearing Bowl at West 63rd Street and South Central Avenue, across the street from Midway Airport.
I would like to hear a few stories from some of You out there, who also visited and bowled at either Marzano's bowling alleys, as they were both fun family places to go to back in the day.
Unfortunately...both places are now long since demolished.

I've been a lurker on the site for a while. Myself and a small group have just started the Clear-Ridge Historical Society covering the history of Garfield Ridge and Clearing. I must admit I've "borrowed" a few pictures from your site such as the photo of the 63rd place streetcar and several other pertaining to the Belt Line yards. We do have a nice collection of old photos of various trains in the neighborhood, such as old Chicago and Joliet Electric Railway photos, the 63rd place streetcar (some from 1915), old Chicago and Alton Railroad pics and old Chicago Union Transfer and the subsequent owners of the Clearing Yards. I am above lurkers little sister. Bowling alleys were a huge part of our childhood as our father co-owned Lawn Lanes only 5 min away. My brother bowled several 300 games & was scouted by the PBA but wouldnt leave college to be the biggest history buff & now devotes time & energy into historical society & neighborhood tours. Thanks gor keeping up this great site.
