Northbound CSX empty unit coal train. Glenview IL. 6-28-2011

I photographed this digital live sound video one morning recently, on Thuursday, June 28th 2012.

A northbound CSX Transportation Company empty unit coal train, is viewed passing My camera location just north of the West Lake Avenue railroad criossing, in north suburban Glenview Illinois.

The train is traveling over the Union Pacific Railroad's former Chicago & NorthWestern freight only cut off line.

Six days after I photographed this video, tragedy struck approximately one mile northeast of this location, as the Shermer Road underpass viaduct in nearby Northbrook Illinois, colapsed under the weight of a slow moving Union Pacific Railroad unit coal train. Two motorists were killed in the wreckage, and the entire
situation is under investigation at this time.

The site of the Shermer Road viaduct is currently being reconstructed as an embankment, to keep the freight trains moving over this major Chicago railroad freight service artery in Chicago's northern suburbs.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
