There is nothing like seeing one of your personal happy railfan memories from the past in H.O Scale.
During the 1980's, I had spent much time lineside railfanning with a camera in hand, at a place known as Hayford Junction in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood.
I can fondly remember seeing the Belt Railway of Chicago's mid 1960's era Alco C 425 roadswitchers on transfer trains, heading to and from the nearby BRC Clearing Yard facility.
I took thi photograph last week Wednsday night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
Fellow club member Henry Kranz, owns and operates this model of one of those Belt Railway of Chicago heavy Alco roadswitchers, which the BRC had retired from their roster of locomotives in 1999.
Welcome to my rail fan page! Here you'll find information and pictures of railroad related items from the Chicagoland area, Wisconsin and Indiana. Enjoy your stay. All Aboard!
