Switching cars at the Canadian National Railroad's former Illinois Central Glen Yard.
Chicago Illinois USA. May 2007.

I took this photo after work one evening in May of 2007. I captured this view looking down from the east side, of the South Central Avenue overpass bridge. A former Illinois Central EMD roadswitcher, is seen shoving a cut of tank cars ( out of view to the right) into the east side of the former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio -later Illinois Central Glen Yard. This facility is near the Chicago city limits with Stickney Illinois, and operates on the south side of the I-55 Stevenson expressway. Notice the neon lime green reflective safety vest being worn by the locomotive operator.

The GM&O roundhouse was at 44th and Mobile and burned in a huge 5-11 alarm fire in the late 50's.
