I took this photo one mild afternoon, in early October of 2008. A Canadian National Railroad transfer freight train, is seen departing eastbound from the nearby former Illinois Central Hawthorne Yard in west suburban Cicero Illinois. The train is photographed just west of the Chicago city limits at Hawthorne Junction. The freight train is now slowly entering the southbound interchange curve connection at Hawthorne Junction, and will slowly proceed southbound on to the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks at the Chicago border.
