I took this photograph on a late weekday afternoon, in October of 2008. A southbound Canadian National transfer train has just left the former Illinois Central Hawthorne Yard facility, in nearby west suburban Cicero Illinois. The train is now slowly rounding the southbound interchange curve connection at Hawthorne Junction, and is now entering on to the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks at the Chicago border.
