The Canal Street Yacht Yard and Marina. Chicago Illinois USA. September 2008.
Autum has arrived in the city of Chicago, and all recreational boating activity on nearby Lake Michigan and the rivers and waterways will soon close for the season. Seen here looking east from the South Canal Street bridge over the Chicago River, is one of many boat storage yards in and around the city of Chicago. This boatyard was also used in the movie Backdraft, wich was filmed in Chicago during the early 1990's.
The boats are gradually being pulled from the water for a long winters rest. Recreational boating ends in Chicago during October, and resumes in April.

There's something special about those old railroad bridges along the canals and rivers in Chicago.
