The old wooden Durango Colorado train station. July 1981.

The Durango Colorado train station. July 1981.

I took this photo one morning in July of the year 1981. I was enjoying a pleasant Motorcoach family vacation to the States of Colorado and New Mexico via Mayflower Tours Company. Seen here, is the large and unique wooden Durango train station, wich serves tourists riding on the steam powered narrow guage Durango & Silverton Railroad.

The pavement in the foreground is now a park with statues and flowered borders. Your photo is pretty historic because it captures the first year after the Denver & Rio Grande Western sold it and the line. Hang onto it.

Thanks for the memories!
