I took this photo on Friday, October 31st 2008 in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. Central Illinois Railroad rebuilt 1950's era EMD Model SW-9 Yard switcher locomotive # 1206, is seen pushing a cut of freight cars west to the runaround siding track east of South Damen Avenue. The Central Illinois Railroad line shown here, formerly DRS Rail Services, had just repainted EMD SW-9 # 1206, into this unique 1950's and 1960's era Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad "Heritage" color scheme. The C,B & Q had worked the various industries on this branchline during the 1960's, with EMD switchers in this color scheme. After the 1970 merger that created the Burlington Northern Railroad, this line was switched with EMD switchers in the BN Cascade green and black color scheme until the line was later sold to DRS Rail Services.

I can remember in the 1970's and 1980's, that the Burlington Northern Railroad had switched this branchline in the morning.
