Central Illinois Railroad # 1206 preparing to run around the working photo freight train. Chicago Illinois USA. Friday, October 31st 2008.

This was the last photo that I had taken that day, as I had to start heading for My second shift job as a Paratransit Driver. We are just west of South Wood Street on the Central Illinois Railroad ex Burlington Northern industrial branchline, in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. The engine crew has just pushed a cut of freight cars into the passing siding east of South Damen Avenue. Now clear of the track switch, crew member "Bob" throws the switch lever, so that the locomotive can now pass the cut of cars, couple up on the west end, and haul the train upgrade on a section known as"The Hill" just east of South Western Avenue. The train is being towed to the BNSF Railway interchange at South Western and Blue Island Avenues.

It was a fun open house occasion for Myself and fellow railfan photographers.

A very special Thank You, to the crews and management of the little Central Illinois Railroad Company.
