I took this behind the scenes photo of a working shortline switching local, in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. On Friday, October 31st, 2008, the privately owned shortline railroad Central Illinois Railroad hosted an open house for railfan photographers. Having run around the train in preparation to head up the interchange hill at South Western and Blue Island Avenues, Locomotive # 1206 is being coupled on to the west end of the freight train with the help of locomotive crew member Bob.
