The underside of the old CTA Brown line rapid transit structure at North Southport Avenue. Chicago Illinois USA. August 2006.
In 2006 and 2007, the Chicago Transit Authority was busy rebuilding the very outdated Brown Line rapid transit route, known in recent years past as the Ravenswood Elevated Line on Chicago's northside. I took this photo looking up from the sidewalk below, at the North Southport Avenue rapid transit station in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. This is the old elevated rapid transit structure. Notice how intricate this view is. Many people pass this location daily and never even seem to notice it. Much hard work and dedication went in to the original construction.
