Two trains meet on the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad line. Bridgeview Illinois USA. August 2007.
I took this photo looking south along the adjacent Illinois Brick Company railroad spur siding, in southwest suburban Bridgeview Illinois. A southbound BNSF Railway freight train, is viewed passing a northbound Union Pacific train waiting on a hold order, just south of the West 71st Street railroad crossing. This is a very busy junction point along the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad mainline. To the immediate north of here, are the interchange and wye junction to the nearby Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard in Bedford Park Illinois. Just a little further north and west of here, is the IHB's own Argo Yard in Summit Illinois. There are also several railroad junctions to the north and south of here as well. Many trains wait here on hold orders until the dispatchers give the go ahead or "Proceed" order.
