Before there was today's Chicago transit agency known as the Chicago transit Authority, there was a company known as the Chicago Surface Lines. Although mainly an electric streetcar operator on Chicago's many city streets, the CSL also rostered a modest fleet of buses as well. To the left is a 1944 vintage CSL White bus, while to the right is a 1922 era restored electric CSL streetcar. Both pieces operate today in retirement at The Illinois Railway Museum, located in the town of Union Illinois.
