Railroads change over the course of time due to mergers or reorganizations. Although no longer an Illinois Central Railroad facility along their former Iowa Division Mainline, this Canadian National facility at the old Hawthorne Yard site in west suburban Cicero Illinois, still has a lot of left over Illinois Central flavor in it's compact styling. This facility has changed little from pre 1999 times, although locomotives acquired through the mergers of other railroads like the Grand Trunk Western, The Wisconsin Central, and even the former Illinois Central can be found here today occasionally.
