I took this photo looking west from the top of the South Pulaski Road overpass bridge, near Chicago's Daley College, one Saturday afternoon in January of 1987. An all morning heavy Lake effect winter snowstorm had blanketed the city of Chicago on this day. With the snowfall through for the day and hazy winter sunshine begining to show, the crew of a Grand Trunk Western Railroad freight train awaits the dispatchers order to depart the huge Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard.
