The intersection of West 63rd Street and South Harlem Avenue. Bedford Park Illinois USA. August 2007.
I took this photo on a hot summer evening in August of 2007. This is the very busy intersection of West 63rd Street and South Harlem Avenue, in the southwest suburban village of Bedford Park Illinois. Located not far from Chicago's Midway Airport, this heavilly trafficked intersection near the Chicago city limits has many local and diverse businesses along South Harlem Avenue. The building in yellow on the southeast corner, is the locally popular Mister Shrimp take out Fish and Chicken stand. Out of view behind this, is the very active (At any given time.) Belt Railway of Chicago tracks that lead to and from the west end of their nearby Clearing Yard facility. On any given day...You can be stopped here by a lenghty 100 car plus transfer freight train moving slowly through here tying up traffic.
The Chicago Fire soccer team also plays just south of the bridge on Harlem Avenue near here, at the Toyota Park Stadium in nearby Bridgeview Illinois.
