The Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana USA. Late October 1991.
I took this photo during an end of the season visit to the Hesston Steam Museum in late October of 1991. It was a cold and rainy day with outside temperatures in the low to mid 40's range. Still...the damp conditions, outside cold and overcast late Autum sky, made for some really nice photographic steam effects that day.
I took this photo at the end of the days operating session. After pulling the last run of the season, the 0-4-0T meter guage steam locomotive from Czechloslovakia is being prepared to be rolled in to the enginehouse under it's last gasp of steam. The fire has just been dumped, and soon the loco and train will bed down for a long winter off season nap.
