I took this photo on a sunny and very pleasant Sunday afternoon back in November of 1989.
Although Chicago's Metra commuter rail agency was formed and began operations in the year of 1984, the Burlington Northern Railroad's own Chicago to Aurora Illinois 3 track mainline....used these 1953 vintage rebuilt EMD model E-9 passenger diesel electric locomotives on this line until September of 1992.
This eastbound local was photographed in downtown west suburban Riverside Illinois.
