I tok this photo, way back in March of 1986.
I grew up on the southwest side of the city of Chicago Illinois, during the 1960's, 70's and 80's eras.
An area I made many a Pilgrimage to via the Chicago Transit Authority's Route # 52 Kedzie / California Avenue bus line, was the intersection of West 63rd Street and South Kedzie Avenue in the bordering Chicago Lawn and Marquette Park neighborhoods.
Time was running out for the old and now very run down looking Marquette Movie Theatre building. Many commercial tenants have already left the building, with the remainder soon to follow within the upcoming months ahead. The Marquette Theatre had long since played it's last movie during the early 1980's, and a last minute attempt to revive "Live concerts and shows in 1983, had failed due to zoning ordinances and parking concerns.
This building was eventually condemmed, and was demolished in August of 1987.
A Ford school bus is viewed turning west on to West 63rd Street at the intersection of South Kedzie Avenue.
