I took this photo back in July of 2006.
From 1928 until the place had closed for good in 2009, many local Chicagoans enjoyed seasonal visits to the Kiddieland Amusement Park in near northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois.
One of My favorite things that I remember from Kiddieland, were these unique little railroad crossing signals in the east parking lot, from the park's popular Miniature Railroad ride.
I always enjoyed hearing the Ding -Ding -Ding -Ding sound they made, when the train would pass through here.
They needed those yellow gaurd posts around them, to protect them from the motorists in the parking lot who sometimes did not pay attention to their driving.
