I took this photo looking east from the Metra Schiller Park commuter rail station. An auto rack freight car from the railroad formerly known as Conrail, is seen passing the depot in tow on a southbound Canadian National transfer train. Conrail was in business from 1976 to 1999, when Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation bought it out, and split it up between themselves.
It is a fallen flag today, but there are still many cars rolling around in Conrail markings today, as well as some locomotives occasionally.
