Westbound Union Pacific transfer train. Hayford Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. September 1990.

I took this photo on a Saturday afternoon, way back in early September of 1990. A Union Pacific transfer train is approaching the Grand Trunk Western crosstrack and interchange at Hayford Junction. Notice the lead unit with Missouri Pacific markings on the side. Union Pacific acquired the Missouri Pacific or "Mo Pac" as it was nicknamed, in a 1982 merger. The large building in the background, is the Nabisco cookie factory located alongside the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge at approximately West 75th Street. The train is enroute to the nearby Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard.
