After seeing many commercials on cable television for the chain of Sonic Drive In Restaurants for the past 5 years or so....they FINALLY opened some franchise locations up here in the greater Chicagoland area! Yaaaay!
One particular item I really enjoyed from the curbside menu next to the driver's side of My car, was an appetizer called Chilli Cheese Tots. Tater Tots are a nice change from the usual French Fries that are served at most fast food places.
Chicago once had many roadside Drive In Restaurants with Car Hop Service during the 1950's and 60's era. Unfortunately, most had vanished for good by 1975.
It is nice to actually see it being revived again.
