I found this photo at My Link page Fallen Flags.Org, located to the right of Your computer screen at www.rr-fallenflags.org

One of My favorite railroads when I was growing up on the near southwest side of Chicago during the 1970's and 80's era, was the Illinois Central Gulf.

The ICG was created from the August 10th, 1972 merger of the Illinois Central, and the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio railroads.

Much of the remaining former G,M & O equipment, rolled around system wide for many years after the fact in as delivered 1960's era factory paint and markings.

Photographer Bob Harrold photographed this former G,M & O EMD GP 35 in Chicago during 1977. Many former G,M & O locomotives were actually retired in their original colors and markings during the mid to late 1980's.
