Eddie K's flyer, and the flyers of other fellow library presenters, atthe Franklin Park Public Library. Franklin Park Illinois USA. May 2011.

I took this photo back in May of this year.

Since 2009, I have been hosting occasional photo slideshow presentations at the Franklin Park Illinois Public Library, located at 10311 West Grand Avenue, in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois.

I will be hosting an upcoming photo slideshow here on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Although this will be primarilly a railfan photo slideshow, the main theme of My presentation, will be about "Riding the CTA rapid transit during the 1950's and 60's!"

I have recently obtained through a friend, a DVD video entitled "The CTA EL and Other Electrics", wich features several silent local railfan home movies taken of the CTA elevated and subway lines, during the 1950's and 60's. If You can remember...the CTA Lake Street elevated line at ground leval with crossing gates in west suburban Oak Park Illinois, the long gone Garfield Park elevated line, or perhaps the interurban trains of the Chicago, Aurora And Elgin RR or the Chicago, North Shore And Milwaukee RR, wich shared the CTA rapid transit right of way to and from downtown Chicago Illinois, then You won't wan't to miss this historic presentation.

This program is dedicated in loving memory of Mr Mark Johnson, who was the program director at the Franklin Park Public Library, until His sudden and untimely passing in August of 2011.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
