I took this photo way back on Saturday, October 28th, 1989.

Chicago's Metra commuter rail agency, was retiring their last 3 early 1950's era EMD model E 8 cab unit passenger diesel locomotives from daily commuter service.

These locomotives, were assigned to the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad commuter lines ( Now Union Pacific), and are seen here operating on the last run fantrip from Chicago to Harvard Illinois.

The locomotives, are performing a series of photo runbys at Ridgefield Illinois near Harvard.
