Burlington Northern RR EMD yard switcher performing Amtrak terminal operations. The Galesburg Railroad Days Celebration. June 8th 1985.

Burlington Northern EMD yard switcher performing Amtrak terminal operations. Galesburg Illinois USA. June 1985.

I took this photo on location in downtown Galesburg Illinois. I rode a specially chartered Amtrak train that was sponsored by the 20th Century Railroad Club of Chicago. The trains charter name was "The Galesburg Zephyr".

This photo was taken after Me and My fellow passengers had disembarked from the train upon arrival in Galesburg illinois, on a hot June 8th 1985. After the passengers had disembarked from the special train, this Burlington Northern Railroad 1950's era EMD first generation SW series yard switcher, had coupled up to the head end of the train. The yard engine would soon tow the passenger train to the servicing area, and turn around track in preparation for the return trip to Chicago later that evening.
