Preserved RTA # 890 "The Tiger Bus." The Midwest transit Bus Museum. Cresthill Illinois USA. September 2000.
This unique hand painted commemorative bus was built in 1967 for the West Towns Bus Company. After the formation and takeover of Chicago Suburban bus service by the Regional Transportation Authority in 1974, this bus was given this Tiger striped paint sceme with markings promoting Chicago's Brookfield Zoo. After retirement in the mid 1980's, it was purchased secondhand, and given a new home at the Midwest transit bus Museum in Cresthill Illinois, near the city of Joliet.
