BNSF Railway one car transfer train waiting for clearance. Chicago Illinois USA. Late January 2007.

I took this photo just east of south Lawndale Avenue near west 49th Street, in January of 2007. The unusual "One car" double stack, is more than likely an extra or special movement to the Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard.
This was an old high school days railfanning hangout for Me during the late 1970's and early 80's, while I was attending nearby Curie High School. The ex Burlington Northern locomotive, an EMD SD 40-2, is waiting on the Belt Railway of Chicago track connection to the former Santa Fe Corwith Yard facility. The bridge pier to the right, is the CTA Orange line rapid transit to Chicago's Midway Airport. It was good to see the old place again after many years.
