Tuskegee Railroad # 101 recieving mechanical attention. The Illinois Railway Museum. Union Illinois USA. June 1986.

I took this photo looking west, from the East Union passenger depot at the museum. A crewmember is devoting some time for inspection and adjustments on Tuskegee Railroad 2 -6 -2 type steam locomotive between demonstration runs on the mainline. This locomotive worked on the 8 mile Tuskegee Railroad in the state of Alabama originally.
Locomotive # 101 operated under steam at the museum from approximately 1970 to 1986.
It is currently undergoing a lenghty overhaul.

my heart jumped when I saw this, I hope to learn more. I see signs of othe old railroad bed and older people talk about riding it and the path it took.
