Eastbound Metra arriving in Brookfield Illinois USA. December 2006.

I took this lovely early winter morning photo, in west suburban Brookfield Illinois. An eastbound Metra train enroute to Chicago Union Station, is seen slowing down as it approaches the Brookfield commuter rail station at Prairie Avenue. This line is the BNSF Railway.

By coincidence, yesterday I was looking at US Census for 1920, where my 8-year-old father lived on Burlington Ave. This train is eastbound approaching Prairie, so that is Burlington Ave. in the background. I doubt if those houses are the ones that were there in 1920.
