Looking east from the Laramie Avenue bridge. The Burlington Northern Railroad's Clyde Yard. Cicero Illinois USA. June 1985.

I took this photo from the east side of the Laramie Avenue bridge in Cicero Illinois back in June of 1985. This is the very busy BN Clyde Yard, located just west of the Chicago city limits.
In the background can be seen the Chicago city skyline, and the Western Electric plant along south Cicero Avenue near west 25th Street.
The old Western Electric plant was demolished in January of 1987, and the site has been redeveloped into a large strip mall. Around the time of the 1995 Burlington Northern / Santa Fe merger...A new bridge with tall metal mesh siding was built on Laramie Avenue. The bridge in the background to the right, is Ogden Avenue, wich was also old Route # 66 prior to 1962.
