I spotted this photo a few days ago while surfing the internet.
This is an historic Chicago area railroad photograph taken during the Wintertime, at some point during the mid 1960's.
Although the picture had stated that the picture was taken at Elmhurst Illinois, I actually doubt this. I have spent much time in Elmhurst Myself in recent years.
To Me, I could be wrong...but it looks like this photo was actually taken in Bellwood Illinois west of 25th Avenue between Saint Charles Road and West Lake Street.
The New York Central Railroad transfer freight train, appears to be coming off of the nearby Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad interchange, and is now entering the former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad Priviso Yard on a cold gray and dry winter day.
If anybody can identify this location, I would really appreciate this.
