The Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana USA. Sunday, September 12th, 2010.

One place I have always enjoyed visiting during their operating season any chance that I had to do so, is the Hesston Steam Museum in northwest Indiana.

Located between Michigan City Indiana and nearby New Buffalo Michigan in La Porte County Indiana, this lovely and very family oriented operating railroad museum....helps to keep the legacy of the "Steam Era" alive and well.

The museum has three different sized train rides. Shown here on the "Large" dual 2 and 3 foot narrow guage line, is an 0-8-0 meter guage steam locomotive, that worked in the European Nation formerly known as "East Germany".

The Hesston Steam Museum also features displays of antique farm tractors, industrial steam powered machinery, a steam powered saw mill, as well as a miniature 14 inch amusement park sized railroad, and a 7 and 1/2 inch guage miniature live steam railroad line .
