Milwaukee Road EMD FP 45 # 2. Bensenville Illinois. January 18th, 1981., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I found this early 1980's era photo at My Link page Fallen Flags.Org to the right of Your computer screen.
The EMD model FP 45 cowl carbody diesel locomotive, was introduced during the late 1960's, and originally served in passenger service on the Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha passenger trains prior to the begining of Amtrak in 1971.
After Amtrak took over Milwaukee Road's passenger operations on May 1st, 1971, these locomotives were withdrawn from passenger service, and bumped in to the freight locomotive fleet.
They served their final years pulling Milwaukee Road freight trains .
