Former New York Central Railroad bay window caboose at Utica New York August 1973. From the internet.

The New York Central had disappeared as a solo corporate entity along with the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1968, when the two financially challenged companys , had merged and became the Penn Central Railroad.
This photo is an example of how it can sometimes take years before a piece or two of railroad equipment, can be repainted in to the colors and markings of the succesor post merger company.
This weather beaten former New York Central Railroad bay window caboose, is viewed wearing it's original colors and markings five years in to the Penn Central merger at Utica New York in the year of 1973.
