Westbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train approaching the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge. Chicago Ilinois. August 1987.

One of My all time favorite 35mm railroad photos I had taken during the late 1980's, was this one looking east from on top of the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge at approximately West 75th Street, in Chicago's bordering Ashburn and Wrightwood neighborhoods on the southwest side of the city.

It is a hot summer afternoon in August of 1987. Looking east from on top of the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge, We see a westbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train being pulled by two 1970's era EMD SW 1500 yard switcher locomotives.

The lead engine # 534, was at work still wearing it's 1976 American Bi Centenial era paint scheme, while the 2nd unit is wearing the standard Belt Railway of Chicago black and gray with yellow striping.

Nice shot! I used to go to "Nabisco Hill" (as we called it) in the '70s to watch the B&O, C&O, and L&N trains. There was a N&W yard further east off Columbus Ave.
