I took this photo way back in July of 1983.

For many years, one of My all time favorite summer fun events, was the annual neighborhood summer carnival that was held at Saint Richard's Catholic Parish at West 50th Street and South Kostner Avenue near Midway Airport.

My summer just wasn't complete without at least one visit here.
The fun rides, the games , the great food, and the many local live bands performing in the beer garden....Man! This was an awesome festival.

I consider this photo to be from much better times, as Saint Richard's has decided in recent times for various economic reasons to no longer hold the summer carnival.

Still.....A happy memory is better than no memory at all. Right?
