The Central Illinois Railroad, was having a special "Open House" public relations event for photographers that day. Their recently painted EMD SW 1200 locomotive # 1206, was making it's debut in a 1950's era Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad color scheme honoring the heritage of this industrial branchline railroad in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood.

The locomotive, is seen pulling a box car across West Cermak Road in Chicago Illinois.
