One of the more unique museum steam train operations in the midwest, is the Hesston Steam Museum, located between Michigan City Indiana, and the border at New Buffalo Michigan. A meter guage ( U.S 2 foot guage) compact Henschel 0-8-0 steam locomotive from the nation formerly known as East Germany, now pulls tourist trains in northwest Indiana.
