A former Illinois Central EMD roadswitcher working at the CN Crawford Yard. Chicago Illinois USA. Early April 2007.
I took this photo after work one afternoon, in early April of 2007. We are on
location at the Canadian National Railroad's former Illinois Central Crawford Yard,
located on Chicago's near Southwest side, just east of the border at the western
suburban village of Cicero Illinois. Although the Canadian National acquired and
absorbed the Illinois Central in a 1999 merger, it is still possible to find former
Illinois Central locomotives in this 1990's era color scheme working on the CN today.
This one was spotted switching tank cars, at the former Illinois Central Crawford Yard. It is the very early Springtime in Chicago, and the straw brown grass will be turning green in a few weeks.
