I took this photo one sunny Autum afternoon, in October of 1983. We are on location at West 51st Street between South Lawndale and St. Louis Avenues, in Chicago's Elsdon neighborhood. The GTW Elsdon Yard, was actually in it's final week of operation. The yard would close for good as an operating freight train yard at the end of the week. The various siding / storage tracks were being cleared out on My visit. These two Grand Trunk western transfer cabooses, were viewed along the north side of West 51st Street.
