With shorter daylight hours this late in the year, there are actually several opportunities to do some night time railfan photography around the greater Chicagoland area.
At approximately 6:10 AM , a southbound Metra early morning local enroute to Chicago Union Station from Fox Lake Illinois, departs from the Northbrook Metra commuter rail station along the Metra's Milwaukee District northline, ex Milwaukee trackage.
