The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. August 2011.

A favorie railroad color scheme from My Childhood growing up in Chicago during the 1960's and 70's era, was the black and gray "Blackbird" color scheme from the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad.

This color scheme dated back to the 1940's and 50's era when the Burlington began to dieselize. I recall seeing many of these as a kid during the late 1960's, at the viaduct on South Kedzie Avenue at West 21st Street in Chicago prior to the March 2nd 1970, merger that created the succesor railroad Burlington Northern.
