Amtrak 40th anniversary locomotive on the rear. Morton Grove IL. Oct 2011.

I photographed this digital live sound video earlier this week on My morning lunch break.

There is track maintenance work being performed nearby courtesy of Chicago's Metra commuter rail agency, and all trains passing through the north suburban Morton Grove Metra commuter rail station, are operating on slow orders.

The northbound Amtrak Hiawatha regional passenger train enroute to Milwaukee Wisconsin, was viewed with a specially painted Amtrak General Electric model P 40 Genesis Series diesel electric locomotive, wearing Amtrak's first official color scheme circa 1972.

Amtrak began operations on May 1st, 1971, and in 2011, the national rail passenger service operator, is celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2011.
