I took this photograph last year, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

During pre Amtrak times prior to 1971, America's railroads had operated their own passenger trains.

The former Illinos Central Railroad, had painted their EMD model E 8 cab unit passenger locomotives, in this attractive chocolate and orange color scheme, as viewed on this sound equipped Broadway Limited Imports model.

This locomotive, is wearing the original pre 1967 I.C "Green Diamond" logo on the front of the locomotives nose, wich was replaced by a more modern "Split Rail" logo during the late 1960's.
