I took this photograph way back in late October of 1989.

Chicago's Metra commuter rail agency, was finally retiring their last three early 1950's vintage EMD model E 8 cab unit passenger service locomotives from daily commuter service, and held this "Last Run" excursion from Chicago to Harvard Illinois over the former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad.

These passengers are disembarking from the fantrip special for a series of photos runbys, at Ridgefield Illinois near the town of Harvard at the end of the line.
